Argentina's Chief of Staff Explains Wife's Flight on Presidential Plane

The Chief of Staff, Manuel Adorni, explained on Tuesday the trip of his wife, Bettina Angeletti, to the United States aboard the presidential plane. The official confirmed the presence of his partner on the official aircraft and noted that she had already planned to travel to Miami, although that plan had been postponed. “My wife was on the presidential plane,” Adorni confirmed during an interview with the news channel A24, as reported by the Argentine News Agency. “My wife was going to travel to Miami on February 26, but then there was a change in the trip and I wanted her to accompany me. The truth is that it was my desire that she accompany me,” explained the Chief of Staff. Adorni participated in Argentina Week, the event that takes place from March 9 to 12 in the United States, where he also questioned Peronism and accused it of having turned the country into a “devastated land” during its years in government. According to the official, the fact that his wife traveled on the presidential plane did not imply an additional cost for the State. “I came here to work my ass off for a week or five days in the United States and I wanted my wife to accompany me because she is my life partner. We didn't take a single peso from the State.”
